I believe this photograph shows an example of the great depression because the photo shows many women and men, having to make a living in the harsh cotton fields. It shows miles and miles of cotton fields that are being worked on by people struggling to carry cotton in satchels.
Part 2A:
Image, Source: digital file from T01 duplicate negative
This image show the upper class of people of the time in World War 2. The image shows all the people sulking around a small shop with faded signs on the outside. At first I was easily able to identify, all of the men in suits and top hats sitting on the shoe-shinning bench, some without black shoes. Also that in this photo only Aftrican Americans are visable in the neighborhood. I believe that this picture was made for a newspaper insulting the abundance of African Americans, because at the time it would seem very likely that people would have such racist views of African Americans. I believe that this image was taken in a small town, around the World War II era.

I believe that this picture is a great representation of the culture in the World War II era. This picture was taken in Alabama, in the summer. I know this because Alabama is more inland, so wind would be much greater if it were spring, the would be snow if i were the winter, and the trees would be bare if it was fall. From this image I am able to tell that Alabama is very religious, and support mostly christianity. I believe an aspect of the church sign that is missing is, the church itself. The image feels incomplete because, it just looks like an advertisement for god.

This image displays an group of old men sitting near a curb, just talking. In the picture i am also able to see that each of these men might be poor because of how they are dressed in raggedy old overalls or a tarnished suit. I believe this image might of been made by a family member taking a picture of the man in the center. I believe the family member used a camera to take the picture. If this image was made today i believe that their clothing would be much different. They might have been dressed in newer and cleaner clothes.
Part 2B:
At the bus station in Durham, North Carolina
In this picture i am able to see a group of colored people waiting outside a bus station in are marked "COLORED WAITING ROOM". The man in the picture seems to be reading the advertisements around the corner of the waiting area. You can tell the age of the picture because of the age of the bus for the time period and some of the advertisements on the posters are talking about Hitler, so the poster is from at least World War II. I believe that the image is missing a sign for the "White" waiting area.

In the picture i am able to see a bit of common racism from the time. The sign depicts an arrow pointing to an area for colored people. From the time period it would be very common for white people to be separate from black people. The setting takes place outside a building in a suburb urban area. I believe this image was taken by a family from the north taking pictures of uncommon sights, this would be very rare for the north because it wouldn't be very segregated. I believe this picture was taken by a camera. I believe that if the picture was taken today the sign wouldn't be there at all. I wondered what people of the time would have thought by seeing this, even though it would be very common, there might have been strong thoughts of hatred because of these signs.
Negro drinking at "Colored" water cooler in streetcar terminal, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
In the picture I am able to see a water fountain labeled with a dirty license plate for colored people, with signs that direct people to the "white" bathrooms. The signs are on either side of the water fountain. I believe this image was made to document American history because, it depicts this man accepting the racism of the time, using certain water fountains. Which shows a lot of American history, because it shows a man being segregated from the whites of the community. I believe that this picture was taken with a camera. From the image I am able to see a good excample of AMerican history in the post World War II era. I always wondered if any white people had any thoughts of how much the "colored" people had to put up with.
Part 3A:
From the interviews i am able to see that every person there had a strong will. These people show a differednt perspective of US history, these people aren't like everyone else they are people who had to suffer and use willpower to survivehttp://memory.loc.gov/ammem/wpaintro/thorsten.htmlChris Thorston, was a person who worked a hard industrial life, he had to use his amazing willpower to endure a risky job like this one http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/wpaintro/irving.html, Some people had it a bit earier. Irving Fajans was a person who worked at a Macys, who didn't really have a hard industrial life but rather lived in a small world of imperfections.
